Sizes in centimetres, not guesswork
An age label is a marketing convention with no standard behind it — real two-year-olds span roughly 12cm of height. Measure once a season and use the chart instead.
Between two sizes?
Size up. Our fabrics are pre-shrunk, so the larger size will not shrink into the smaller one — and children grow into a garment far more happily than out of one.
The exceptions: sleepwear should fit close, and shoes should never be sized up — a loose shoe changes how a child walks.
Four measurements
How to measure
Takes two minutes. Write them on your phone and re-measure every three months up to age three, then twice a year.
Height
Without shoes, heels and back against a wall, looking straight ahead. Mark the top of the head and measure to the floor. This is the single most predictive measurement.
Chest
Around the fullest part, under the arms, with the tape flat but not tight. Arms relaxed at their sides.
Waist
At the natural waist — the narrowest point, above the hip bone. For children still in nappies, measure over the nappy.
Foot
Standing, heel against a wall, measure to the longest toe. Measure both feet — they're rarely identical — and use the longer one.

Body measurements, not garment measurements. Match the height first — it is right more often than the age band.

Leave about 1cm of growing room beyond the longest toe — no more. Check the fit every eight weeks up to age three.
